APPROACH

I move through your day in surrender to the flow, trusting experience and intuition to lead me exactly where I need to be. Documentary observer and cinematic director. Sacred witness and channel for the magic swirling all around us.

Working with me begins with trust. Before your wedding day, we'll meet—whether for an engagement session or simply over coffee—so you can feel confident in my presence and my ability to hold space for your story. I've been photographing weddings for twenty years, and I know that the images you'll treasure most emerge not from posing or performance, but from genuine moments witnessed by someone you trust to see you clearly.

On your wedding day, I move through your celebration with quiet intention. I'm there as both documentary observer and cinematic director—knowing when to disappear into the background and when to gently guide you toward beautiful light or a striking composition. You'll feel my presence as calming rather than intrusive. I'm attuned to rhythm, emotion, and the sensual details that make your day uniquely yours: the way light falls across a table, the weight of a hand on a shoulder, the electrical charge of a stolen glance.

The result is sophisticated fine art that honors truth. Sweeping, beautifully composed scenes alongside quiet, tender moments. Images suspended between the epic and the intimate, capturing not just what your wedding looked like, but what it felt like to experience it.

The woman has braided hair with flowers, wearing a sleeveless lace wedding dress. The man has his hand in his pocket, and the woman rests her hand on his shoulder, looking at him with a slight smile. The background includes trees and a bright sky.

Every wedding is unique, and so is every collaboration. I create bespoke experiences tailored to your story—whether that includes engagement sessions, custom heirloom albums, or traveling to document your celebration anywhere in the world.

I invite you to share what you're envisioning—the feeling, the atmosphere, the dream of it—so we can discover what will honor your day most beautifully.

TESTIMONIALS & GRATITUDES

Black and white photo of a wedding celebration with a bride holding a bouquet and a groom walking next to her, surrounded by guests, some wearing hats, with bubbles floating in the air.

Hi Carey,

I’ve been meaning to write and tell you how much we love the photos! I’ve probably looked at them 5,000 times now—and every time, I spot some new hilarious or beautiful detail. Everyone we’ve shared them with has said the same thing: you captured the feel of the wedding perfectly. And you caught so many lovely moments!

As we first looked through them, I kept hearing the voices of the people in the photos pop into my mind. It reminded me of Bernini’s idea of a “speaking likeness”—the idea that capturing someone just as they’re about to speak, or when they’ve just spoken, reveals their character. You managed to capture the people we love most in the world truly being themselves, and I can’t thank you enough for that. Your photos will be among our dearest possessions for the rest of our lives.

Thank you again. We’re so grateful you were part of our wedding.

Warmly,

Anne & Nick

P.S. We used the lobster claw hand-holding photo for our thank-you cards. We both love that one way too much.

I count my lucky stars that my husband and I were fortunate enough to work with Carey for our wedding photos. Carey's photos are simply works of art. She has the ability to create exquisite, photojournalistic images that are so full of emotion, the feeling of the moment simply leaps off the page. I searched long and hard for the "right" photographer for our wedding day and just cannot say enough how truly grateful we were to work with Carey.

As if her photography talents were not enough, she is simply the warmest human who is so genuinely happy to be part of the special moments she is photographing. We (and frankly our whole extended families) considered Carey part of the family by the end of our wedding night. She integrated with our crew seamlessly and was in no way intrusive.

Carey was so patient with us during the planning phases, made time late in the evening to speak with us when she knew our work schedules were hectic and invited us down to her Brooklyn studio for a pre-wedding photo shoot to help with the pre-wedding jitters. Not to be understated is just how calming a presence Carey was to us on our wedding day. She can take two stressed humans and work her magic so they are having nothing but the best time ever.

Carey! I just want to hug you!

We took your advice, practiced self restraint, and waited to go through the photos together last night. Then zoomed in our best man and maid of honor to share screen so we could relive the weekend a second time with them.

We have so many favorite parts, but some include: seeing the wedding through the kids eyes, how the camp setting distorted time and some of the photos look like they're a century old; but most of all, the moments no one knew you were there capturing the best of their emotions.

Thank you
x
