The Dance Parade, while one of the lesser known annual NYC street parades, is nonetheless an experience of pure movement and joy. On a gray spring day, I had the honor of accompanying the Butoh dancers of the Chelsea Recreation Center, choreographed by the loveliest Mariko Endo, as we glided, skated even, from Flatiron down to Thompkins Square Park. It was a highlight of my year.
